Safe Harbor Dedicated to Helen Shultz

The Saybrook at Haddam has dedicated its Safe Harbor neighborhood to its very first memory care resident, Helen Shultz of Old Saybrook, who lived at the specialized community throughout its inaugural year. Members of the Shultz family joined the retirement community at a brief ceremony on May 6 to unveil a personalized plaque placed in Safe Harbor in honor of Helen’s memory.

Saybrook at Haddam Among First to Hire On-Staff Social Worker

The Saybrook at Haddam has become one of the very first retirement and assisted living communities in the state to have a social worker on staff. Brooke Conley, licensed clinical social worker, will work with new residents as they adjust to life in the community, and will provide ongoing support to current residents as requested. She also will offer in-service training for staff and will host informational lectures for residents and their families on a wide range of social concerns.
