Caring for a family member or loved one suffering from dementia requires patience, fortitude, and a network of much-needed support from others in similar situations. To help caregivers develop this network, better understand the disease, and reduce stress and anxiety associated with dementia care, The Saybrook at Haddam has created a new monthly Caregivers’ Support Group. The group, which is open to the public, offers caregivers as well as family and friends of persons with dementia an opportunity to share information, talk through challenges, and learn more about local resources.
