Kathy P. Ryan, Executive Director
For more than 17 years, Kathy has held senior positions at retirement communities, most recently, as executive director at Atria Crossroads Place (formerly known as the Bridges at Crossroads) in Waterford, Conn. She promoted several extremely popular programs such as the “Power of Now” and “Gentle Care Orientation Training” to train and inspire her team. She also successfully managed the community through three ownership changes, maintaining satisfaction among residents and staff, and earning two Quality Assurance Awards along the way. Previously, she served as executive director at the Chelsea at Fanwood in Fanwood, N.J., during its start-up phase (helping build a 96 percent occupancy rate). Kathy lives in Mystic, Connecticut.

David Downey, Community Relations Director
A long-time Connecticut resident, David’s has built a successful 20-year career in sales and marketing of independent and assisted living retirement communities throughout Connecticut. These include the upscale Pomperaug Woods community in Southbury, the 55+ community, Powder Forest Homes, in Simsbury, and Ashlar Village (owned and operated by Masonicare) in Wallingford. At The Saybrook at Haddam, David will oversee sales and marketing to potential residents and families, and will work with professionals, referral services, senior organizations, doctors, hospitals, rehab centers and local organizations. He is excited to re-introduce the exceptional living services and caring community found at The Saybrook at Haddam.

Marianne R. Ward, RN, Resident Care Director
Marianne is Resident Care Director at The Saybrook at Haddam, where she has worked since 2008. Her responsibilities include developing care plans for each resident, reporting to physicians and families, coordinating the nursing staff, as well as performing clinical assessments on potential residents. Previously, Marianne was an RN case manager at Masonicare Home Health and Hospice serving as VNA case manager, home health aide supervisor, and care coordinator between physicians and family members. She also worked as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. Marianne is certified in CPR, ACLS and Telemetry.

Joe Irving, Management Consultant
Throughout his career, Joe has been involved in the daily operations, marketing and management of retirement and assisted living facilities in the eastern United States.As owner of Senior Housing Solutions, LLC, management firm, Joe has been involved in building exceptional leadership teams that are able to position and operate senior residences to their fullest potential. His focus is steadfastly on the senior residents and their families, working to ensure they receive high value, quality service, and exceptional care while under his management.
